I just finished reading Late Bloomer and I was completely blown away. I love this book; it is an open look into the complex life of Erica Scott. She hides nothing and I think risks much in today’s world. Due to years of keeping journals and then moving on to social networking Erica has honed her ability to tell compelling stories well, and in such a way that reading it is a joy. You owe it to yourself to get a copy. I promise that you will not be disappointed.

I hope that she doesn’t take offense at my familiarity but I feel that I already know her. Our lives have striking similarities and I think that there are a lot of us out there. This is an important book with a whole lot to offer. In a more balanced world I firmly believe you would find it on many best seller lists. Thank you Erica, I plan to read this again.

Sometimes it really seems quite silly this fascination with all things spanking. Other times though, especially when I feel that special itch, it is the hottest most erotic thing I have ever experienced. I was reading through my old posts and came to the conclusion that some of the things I have documented here I have never shared with anyone. Although reading through it some of my posts are rough and poorly executed, I am rather proud of a few.

I did not have any intention of ever doing this but last year my sister gave me a book for my birthday. It was by David Sedaris and I enjoyed his style of writing and his humor. I read a few more of his books and I thought I had a strange and embarrassing life. Mine was not so shocking after all.

So I decided to start a blog. I thought that I might have interesting things to say about one of my favorite activities and quite a collection of older material to share. One small problem I would be wondering just what to post or searching through the files on my computer and get distracted. I would go online looking for inspiration and reading the blogs that I had just learned about. It seemed to take up a lot of my day.

Since then I have gotten a little better about not fixating on the one thing all the time. I even got into George R. R. Martin and spent about 10 days reading Game of Thrones, then read the series again to savor it. Going back to a more or less rational ideal of doing all the things I enjoy.

I posted last week about Hollywood promising sex but because of the requirement to satisfy the self censorship that has been with us all along they really could not possibly deliver. That being said I would like to talk about the spanking in cinema from the beginning.

Spankings were much more acceptable behavior until recently. After all according to current thinking spanking is just abuse. The modern man or women does not have to accept that type of behavior from anyone. I am sorry to disagree but spanking is not abuse. There are too far too many ways to for us to hurt each other than butt bongo. To equate ass slapping with black eyes and broken bones is just plain wrong, in my opinion.

On to the topic: Sex or rather spanking in old movies. I have read about the stringent restrictions on what you could put into a movie from the very first screen kiss, to Marlon Brando’s “Pass the butter”. In the current modified version of this scene they superimposed a chandelier over Marlon’s butt and it had to be a big one.

Anyway over the years the along with other things sexual activity was a definite no-no. Therefore if a scene took place on a bed or in a bedroom the red lights went off. Any such activity was carefully scrutinized.

Some insightful directors realizing that although they could not show a woman’s bum being touched in any way at all could show the old fashioned over the knee punishment for whatever reason. This was even easier if the situation was at all comical in nature. It was not all that common but because of tight restrictions we have a large number of examples of sexy spanking scenes in older movies.

I should have realized this sooner. After all buns moving up and down, hips thrusting in time to the striking hand, it’s a sexual position that just needs a name. How about cowgirl with a twist, or cowgirl sidesaddle for example?

Now there are others that would disagree with me entirely. John Wayne was one. He was very conservative and did not seem to feel that there was any sexual content in spanking a girlfriend or browbeating wife. His version of the Taming of the Shrew was family fare. Well maybe collector implies more of a hobby than an obsession. I have been acquiring stuff, drawings  cartoons, videos and photos for quite some time now. I think that some of the things I have gathered are still quite good and should be shared.

I still remember the first movie delivered to my home in the exclusive brown paper cover from the House of Milan and hardly believing what was being played out. The technical quality was limited and silent, and the spanking was pretty lame but it was a start.

From those humble beginnings to the present where high production material for the sophisticated (er twisted?) consumer is available at the click of a mouse. I would like to highlight one of the video series from Nu-West/Leda.

The one segment from this series is a clip of a young woman introducing herself. She announces that she is about to be spanked and invites us to come and watch.

I have been reading for years about the possibility that actors going through the motions on the big screen have been doing more than that. I was watching a special on cable and this actress made a most revealing statement. Hollywood can only promise sexy movies but with the reality of censorship unless a radical shift takes place they really can only tease.

Since I am a movie buff and follow trivia about movies and what supposedly goes on this topic has interested me for some time. That being said I still enjoy the stories that indicate that movie sex has been real. I do think a lot of sex takes place on movie sets, just not a whole lot in front of the cameras.

In a movie The Name of The Rose a 15 year old Christian Slater was scheduled to read with three different actresses for his scene with them. According to IMDB Christian was so smitten with Valentina Vargas that he did not want the others considered. I can’t say that I blame him. The scene in the movie is very well done and a high point of the film.

Talk about difficult working conditions, I can only imagine the problems of having Valentina writhing around on top of you for the required length of time for the filming; it must have been very tough. Christian Slater has said that he had just become sexually active. For years I had heard rumors about Christian and Valentina but it could have been just good PR. I just now found a reference to the commentary by the director. He filmed the scene with as few people present as possible and still had trouble getting the actors attention. It seems that this was really straight method.

Many people have stated that the sex in Don’t Look Now was very hot between Donald Sutherland and Julie Christie. Former Variety editor Peter Bart has written about his time onset in his new book, “Infamous Players: A Tale of Movies, the Mob, (and Sex).”  Bart writes in the excerpt obtained by the Hollywood Reporter, “It was clear to me they were no longer simply acting.

There are a few others that have been mentions over the years. Boxcar Bertha actually claimed a conception took place on the set. The action in Angel Heart did some damage to Lisa Bonet. Someone said that if the actors were actually having sex then they weren’t acting. I think that this is wrong, really having sex is just the thing. You can see a lot of sex in porno but watching two people connect seems so much better. This may seem off topic and it is, but I am going somewhere with it. I just don’t know quite where yet. we will all know when I do.
