I have been enlightened about sexuality many ways, from personal hands on training to cyberspace. Since I started reading The Spanking Blog and one of the links included one to the website Figging.com Figging: Anal Discipline Enhancing Spanking and Bottom Play with Ginger. I just had to see what this was, and have done a little research on the topic.

I have had sushi complete with thinly sliced ginger. It is supposed to clean the palate because the flavors of really good sushi and sashimi are very subtle, if your sushi tastes fishy it is probably not fresh enough. The bite of ginger is pretty slight, nothing like wasabi, the green paste made from ground up horseradish.

If you go to the site there is a resounding fail on this practice by Erica Scott who writes a blog http://ericascottlls.blogspot.com/; which I have read and enjoyed. There is also a very amusing story about a figging shoot gone awry. You have to read this but the gist of the story is that the properly carved plug of ginger was inserted and during the shoot the thing kind of got sucked in. They tried everything to retrieve it; even a trip to the ER did not recover that darn plug. I find this completely realistic as I have had a similar experience with a hot dog. I did a google search for a fitting image and came up with an image of a fitting.

Feeling that I would not subject anyone to something I have not tried myself; I got as far as purchasing an appropriate hand of ginger. I could not bring my self to actually do this, although I am still fascinated by the concept. If safety is a concern a small butt plug could be lubricated with a variety warming substances and there would be no chance of a lost ginger plug. One of these days I think I will have to try this just to feel the burn, I will keep you posted.
